My most recent redemption took nearly four years of waiting, followed by four weeks of nagging, but it finally arrived. Recently, in my never-ending request to clear the piles of cards off of my desk, I found a redemption card that I had redeemed long ago.
This was supposed to get me an autographed Akim Aliu rookie card from the Panini Limited Hockey set. So did Panini. However, a few things happened that made getting this card impossible. First, Akim Aliu was not re-signed by the Flames at the end of the season.
He ended up spending the season on minor league contracts with two different AHL teams. So, the redemption was out of sight, out of mind as far as I was concerned, while Panini probably had other things to focus on than to try and settle up outstanding hockey redemptions. Which brings us to this year.
When I rediscovered this redemption card, I thought that I must have gotten it by now. Panini always delivers. But when I looked it up, it showed that I registered for the redemption on July 2, and that the order was still open.
Hey PaniniAmerica who can I contact about a long-overdue redemption card that I am still waiting for? Barry PuckJunk February 9, PaniniCSM Can you help me with an outstanding redemption? Barry PuckJunk February 10, PuckJunk — What is the 6 digit redemption number for it?
I waited 2 years for an Alex Bregman triple threads auto and refused to accept their replacement. I finally received the actual card from redemption which was a good surprise.
About 2 months before they were all cheaters lol. Ha ha! But, yet way back there was a time when I could, and did and was ignored again anyway. This all started with wax products that were discounted because they were older, and I was none the wiser about redemption cards. But; they accepted the codes for them, and promised them to me. There were, at that time even a couple others, I bought about 6 boxes of them and I received those in the 8 month time frame, but am still waiting for the other 4 from the momentum set.
I sent them all at around the same time-Late Early I pretty much gave up on them, especially since the last time I could email them, was not a nice email to say the least. Thanks for letting me air my grievances.
At least I got to do that in 5 years. Keep up the great work!!! I pulled the card on June of and panini made an offer of sending me whoever Aaron Dobson is. I declined. Now whenever I try to contact them they just say to wait for an email. Would you happen to know if I would get the exact card? Panini has not even had the common courtesy to email or call me back after numerous messages and emails left. I have read the prior emails in this chat and left a message on the customer service line you provided as well as emailing remrich paniniamerica.
I hope he will respond. The email and phone for the class action is invalid. Any updates? I suppose. I clicked the link you responded to my comment with and it lead me to the above mentioned lawsuit filed in feb I believe.
I pulled a Zion Williamson Redemption card from optic. I have been waiting on a Cody Kessler rookie auto since Also an Orlando Arcia rookie auto since I asked for a replacement 4 months ago for both. They said weeks for replacements. That too is a lie.
I waited 5 years for a Julio Jones rookie auto as well before asking for a replacement. After waiting 5 years, you would think they might do something to make it up to you. Another issue if people pay attention, your will see newer products release that will have the players autograph live in the newer product while you are still waiting on a redemption that Panini claims the player has not signed for a much older product. Its like they already got your money and they know you will ask for a replacement or even forget about it and they do not care.
Its like being the 1st person to pay, and the last to receive in some cases. Glad this lawsuit is happening, but do not forget about Topps…. Redeemed a Dave Montgomery a benny snell and a gardner minshew…that was back in Nov …still awaiting.. I redeemed the minshew also around the same time. Yea ive been getting really inpatient with this bs…i opted for replacement on the Montgomery n Snell…thinking i would get a response but that was months ago…i want the Minshew..
I pulled a numbered kobe auto in Emailed panini and made complaints on several occasions, where no one has gotten back to me. This is incredible. I have many redemptions dating back to I have been in contact with Robert Emrich from Panini since Jan. He has been responding back. But have not received any redemptions back yet. Such a bummer.
One is a Giannis for my 9 year olds birthday. As of the past few weeks, I can no longer access the webpage to check the status of my redemption requests. I am a filmmaker…. Hey Matt thanks for the comment… you have been waiting for for a Panini redemption? If we keep buying they will never change their ways! I have several redemptions as well. Finally, the first person I have seen say this. And you are exactly right. Unless this is done soon there will be no card hobby left.
May take a few years but they will ruin the hobby. This whole industry is going down. The major rise is one of the largest indicators. This will continue bc they know that no other card company provides the quality cards that panini does. So they think that collectors will put up with it bc really the only other option is to stop buying. However this is about the thousands of other athletes that continue to put out cards in countless other products that panini sells long after unfulfilled redemptions.
They are ruining the hobby and this is just one of the many things that are going on. Put it all together. Unfortunately most will not know enough to sell before this all locks in and will lose tremendous amounts of money. Inflation will always be there but what they are doing is beyond normal business practices. It is greed. When the collector is no longer putting the value on the item and the very company that sells the product starts to value the product beyond the collector this creates major Inflation.
Then new ppl will join the hobby based off of this baseless information which will create the need for a crash.
Because you will have more selling then buying. Simple economics. Redemptions were them dipping their feet in to see what they could get away with. And now they have created a whole fake market based on nothing. They passed the buck and turned a blind eye to it. Well I guess in a sense it is just not for the average Joe.
If people really knew just how dirty this hobby has gotten, there would be no one left. And the house always wins. There is so much more to this industry than the average collector realizes. Some corporate guru somewhere realized this is one of the few untouched markets left and saw a hidden gold mine.
It was bound to happen I suppose. Al, interesting to say the least… in a tight summary why do you think the card market is finished?
Our take: the card market is not finished. We expect another dip but not a crash although a crash could happen. I really need help with this. The standard line is to wait for an email update. There have been numerous other Kobe on card autos issued and on ebay the past several months since his unfortunate passing.
After spending thousands of dollars busting packs, you finally get a good pull and then get stonewalled by a billion dollar company. It is a disgusting abuse of the customer and not in good faith! Any advice? Small claims court? I will never every buy Panini again, I have redemptions under their old website that I can no longer access. Over six football redemptions that are over 8 years old. I have tried numerous attempts to reach customer service with no avail.
At one point I reached someone and the guy answered and hung up on me. I blasted them on Twitter and Panini is a joke. Normally, the older a baseball card is the more likely it will have higher value. And so on.
So, with that in mind — the two main reasons that baseball cards are so valuable is the popularity of the sport through the s and the fact that older cards are more likely to have fewer good condition examples after a large amount of time has passed. Sports card values from the lates and earlys are pretty much worthless.
They have plain art cards as well as more attractive read sparkly ones.
