What is the difference between albion prelude and terran conflict

Once you've gone through all of the plots in TC, you should have a very solid grip on how everything in the game works, and it would be a good time to give AP a try. I've tried AP. It was extremely difficult. I kept getting blown to hell and back when I fight the first group of enemies, in Treasure Chest. I also don't really understand how the buying of equipment works.

IMO, AP brings a few things to the table, like revamped combat mechanics for In-Sector Where the player is and Out-of-Sector Where other ships, like player-owned ships and stations, might be at any given moment.

It added a "Stock Exchange" sort of system, too, which is just a way of making large amounts of money, fast. It also added a general war between Humans and Argons and some faction adjustments.

There are new routines for generating AI Response Fleets that will respond to hostile incursions into their territory, as well. What this means for a new player is that X3AP is a tougher game if you're starting as a Human or Argon. There will be a lot more combat and more combat opportunites as well as a new story-plot revolving around the war.

To sum: Try the base game, X3TC, first. That isn't saying that X3TC doesn't have faction hostilities,though. In X3TC, certain races will launch border attacks on others. And, there are hostile aliens to contend with, too, and some of those are very powerful..

If you like to mod games, take a loot at the more popular mods and see if any strike your fancy. Head over to the Egosoft forums. If you find one that you like Be sure you're looking at the latest version of the mod!

Many mods will not work with both or have to be coded differently, due to certain database concerns, and some require AP's newer combat features, so you wouldn't want to not be able to use a mod you liked, simply because you've invested a lot of play-time in one version over the other.
